Motivation

There are a few crucial things that really motivate me. One of the big things is putting my voice out to the public or just a few friends. This doesnt have to be my real voice but it can be. It can also be my music or art voicing out to people. And I want to show that i have my own thoughts. Another thing that motivates me is punishment..If i know that I am going to to get in trouble or one of my family or friends is. Then i will do everything i ca to make things right. One of the last things that motivates me is just my  personality. I have a lot of Will and Determination. So if i am wanting to do something then i motivate myself to get it done. I do a few things that i enjoy a lot in my free time. First and foremost is my passion. This is Music. I don't care if I am playing it on the bass guitar. Listening to it on the Radio. Seeing  live concert somewhere. Music is what i do. I will choose my career do associate itself with some type of music. I would ideally want to be a Studio Musician or an Audio Engineer. I can't even picture myself working on a computer all day. If it doesnt have to do with music then i don't want anything to do with it. Financial Rewards come second or third in my list of priorities. First i would love to just play and Listen. That is what i do. Second would probably be voicing my opinion through music and putting my views on things and ideas out to the people. The Financial benifits will work themselves out. I don't care if i am homeless on the street. give me a radio and a guitar and i am content.

  1. I loved reading your post. Very reflective. You come down strongly on the side of intrinsic rewards. If everyone was like you, would the economy falter? Maybe not. Maybe people are more productive when they are following their passions? Your comments about your desire to have a voice remind me of a recent book by Daniel Pink, Drive, that emphasizes autonomy and voice as primary motivators for productivity?
